Distribution Line Engineering 12 kV Project

Since 2016, Lazen Power Engineering has been working with a California Utility on an essential Fire Risk Mitigation project. This project aims to enhance the resilience of areas most susceptible to wildfires through an extensive hardening process. Throughout this journey, we have undertaken various critical tasks, including design, PLS-CADD™ modeling, and comprehensive quality assurance reviews of multiple 12kV circuits. The scope of work involves the strategic replacement of wood poles with steel poles and the upgrading of copper wire.

02

Distribution Line Engineering PLS-CADD™ Project

Since 2021, Lazen Power Engineering has been actively collaborating with a California utility on a crucial project. The main objective of this initiative is to address the potential fire risk in high-risk areas by remediating or replacing distribution poles. The core tasks involved in these projects are engineering scope assessment, PLS-CADD™ distribution design, and performing quality assurance/quality control checks.

03

Distribution Line Engineering Cutover Project

From 2021 - 2022, Lazen Power Engineering collaborated with a California Utility, offering valuable engineering support for the cutover of a 4kV circuit to a 12kV circuit. The project encompassed a comprehensive scope, and the key responsibilities included PLS-CADD™ design, analyzing pole equipment and clearances, creating PRG reports, PIDS uploads, and running other analysis reports such as cross arm calculations and stringing charts.

04

Transmission Line Engineering
ALM Project

From 2017 to 2019, Lazen Power Engineering successfully collaborated with a California Utility on an extensive series of 42 projects, focusing on the design of 500kV/230kV/138kV/69kV FAA Aerial Lighting & Marker Ball (ALM) installations. These projects entailed meticulous PLS-CADD™ modeling, incorporating marker balls onto shield wires, while encompassing both existing and proposed conditions. Throughout this endeavor, our team of experts carried out a range of critical tasks to ensure the project's success. The major tasks completed for this project were structure analysis, tension selection, sag analysis, ground lines reaction analysis, material list and construction package creation.

05

Transmission Line Engineering ADSS Project

In 2022, Lazen Power Engineering collaborated with a Northwest utility on an ADSS fiber transmission project. The scope of work consisted of installing new ADSS fiber optic cables between two substations. The project encompassed various essential tasks, such as PLS-CADD™ modeling to analyze structures, conductors, clearances, and blowouts. In addition to foundation design, bill of materials, and coordination with project stakeholders.

06

Transmission Line Engineering Greenfield Project

Since 2022, Lazen Power Engineering has been actively collaborating with a Northwest utility on a 115kV and 230kV transmission project. The scope of work consists of 11 miles of new 115 kV transmission line and an impressive 37 miles of new 230 kV transmission line. This ambitious undertaking serves as a greenfield transmission line project, providing vital support to a northern facility. Our engineering services consist of incorporating PLS-CADD™ design to comprehensively analyze structures, conductors, clearances, and blowouts. Other major tasks include foundation design, material lists, steel structure drawings, vibration damper recommendations, and coordination with project stakeholders.

07

Transmission Line Engineering Interconnection Project

This year, Lazen Power Engineering started working with a Northwest utility on looping an existing 138kV line into a new substation to facilitate essential interconnections with a City. In addition, 4.5-miles of OPGW is to be installed from an existing substation to a new substation. Major tasks for this project include PLS-CADD™ modeling, structural design and analysis, foundation design and calculations, damper calculations, clearance analysis, damper calcs, material list development, coordination with stakeholders, project management, and construction support.
